Black Beauty of the Week: Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is our first Black Beauty of the Week. This actor, L’Oreal spokeswoman, director, and humanitarian is rocking a very simple glam look to complement her bold, primary yellow dress. She’s not wearing a lot of color on the eye, but has a great “cat eye” liner effect and is rocking false lashes. I use MAC fluidline in Blacktrack for that look.  This is paired with a light, almost tranparent, peach lip color.

If you are rocking a bold color, pair down your makeup.  You don’t want to look to “matchy”.  Bright primary reds, greens, blues…etc do not need to be matched exactly in terms of your eye color.  A fresh, clean look with a hint of glamour (the liner and lashes) like Kerry’s will make your outfit the focus, but still leave you with some shine.
